AWARENESS & RESPONSIBLITY - COMMUNICATING STUDENTS PROGRESS

Image
I am showcasing the criteria of awareness that I strongly recommend to other teachers which contributed to enhancing the working culture of our school and mainly about effective ways of communicating with parents to take part in the student's progress. I strongly believe that when parents and teachers work together, the impact on student progress can be significant. But the parent-teaching partnership, like any other, won't work without communication. After experimenting, I added these methods of communication which really helped me out. 1. I have created the student portfolios: Detailed progress reports are made and sent to the parents every month showing the student's academic standards. As an early learning educator for young learners, I totally focus not only on the subject but also on the behavior and improving their motor skills aspect as well. I list the solution for all parents individually to enhance the ability of the students where they are lacking and report wit...

SENSITIVITY - BENEFITS OF TEACHING WITH TOTAL PHYSICAL RESPONSE (TPR) FOR YOUNG LEARNERS

Image
I am showcasing the TPR teaching methodology with our y oung students in this blog. It is a fun way of teaching that is easier and keeps my student memorable.    Most students learn in many different ways, which is why there are various teaching techniques available. One of these various techniques is the Total Physical Response (TPR) method, which involves students acting out the meaning of a specific word or phrase you’re teaching them. You’re probably familiar with the term, but you might not be aware of the benefits of TPR teaching. As you’ll learn below, this method can be particularly useful for teaching young students new languages. I tried it out with my Dolphin and chicken levels for introducing and learning new vocabulary. It works a lot and had wonderful results for building vocabulary. It helps my student to understand the target language easily. I am listing out the actual benefits of the TPR which will really help your students.   Benefits of the TPR  1...

SENSITIVITY , RESPONSIBILITY & TEAMWORK - TEACHERS DAY PROJECT 20-11

Image
I designed a wonderful project for this Teacher's day which was divided into five activities: DIY Card making,  a wonderful dance performance, making a flower bouquet, a Hidden jigsaw puzzle, and cake cutting at the end. We had this event for both Bienhoa and Longkhanh. I had taken the overall responsibility to design the lesson content and get it approved by Ms. Thuy Anh on time two weeks before to have the materials in-house without any delay. We taught the students a Teacher song for performing during the Teachers day project and made some structure in English to make them understand the important role of teachers in their life. Even though the idea was single-handed I grouped my team to have perfect teamwork to design and get the suggestion for making the sample for the flower bouquet in such a way for us to find the best way of doing all the planned activities for this teacher's day project. 1. Making a DIY handmade card for teachers We let the students make DIY handmade c...

SENSITIVITY - STORY TELLING AND INNOVATIVE WAY OF LEARNING EXPERIENCE WITH PUPPETS IN EARLY LEARNING EDUCATION

Image
As you know playing with puppets is one of the most educational activities which I expose our kids to. Watching someone play with a puppet may seem fun and entertaining, but miming with puppets is much more. When I realize all the additional benefits of this activity I want to keep a basket of puppets available at home for giving a wonderful storytelling experience.  The wonderful thing about puppets is they don’t have to be expensive store-bought models. The humble sock, the odd one that always hangs around, can be made into a very engaging puppet.  It is not difficult to make your own puppets. Children are generally happy with something which I have made to tell stories or put on a puppet show. I made my four characters in the Hooray book what we are teaching using the fabric and stitching it using the thread. You can also make a puppet from a paper bag or try your hand at making a string puppet using cardboard boxes or toilet rolls. The purpose of the puppet is to crea...

SENSITIVITY , RESPONSIBILITY & TEAMWORK - HALLOWEEN EVENT

Image
I designed a wonderful theme called a spooky place for this Halloween which was divided into four parts: a scary DIY jack-o-lantern,  a wonderful dance performance, a fashion show, and Halloween puzzle games for our children. We had this event for both Bienhoa and Longkhanh. I had taken the overall responsibility to design the lesson content and get it approved by Ms. Thuy Anh on time three weeks before to have the materials in-house without any delay. We taught the students a Halloween song for performing during Halloween and review some Halloween vocabulary in English as well which we will be using during the project.  Even though the idea was single-handed I grouped my team to have perfect teamwork to design and get the suggestion for making the sample in such a way for us to find the best way of doing all the planned Halloween decorations. 1. Making a DIY Jack-o-lantern  We made DIY jack-o-lanterns for our kids to paint during the class to have them during the p...
