SENSITIVITY - TEACHING THE PARTY CHARACHTERS VOCABULARY WITH THE COSTUMES - REALIA MODEL OF TEACHING METHODOLOGY

I am showcasing how I have used the "REALIA" method in my classroom activities. It's really a great tool when we use it for teaching our young learners.



Whether you’ve held up a real object to elicit a vocabulary word from students or brought in a special item from home to grab your students’ attention, you’re using realia. If you are beginning to learn how to teach English to kids effectively, looking for a way to spice up your classes, or trying to find fun activities for adult learners, using realia is a great technique to help your students learn! quickly.




Realia for ESL can make the learning experience more memorable and create connections between objects and vocabulary words or other language concepts. This can make it easier to recall information. For in-person classes, it adds a kinesthetic element for people who learn better with hands-on activities. Online classes, it provides a visual aid to engage students. Additionally, realia is more dynamic than a written word or flashcard used to teach a concept.

Above are my chicken classes learning the party character's vocabulary by using and wearing the real costumes and transforming what they are learning into a character.

Realia reinforces language skills and appeals to both visual and kinesthetic learners of all ages. I used realia to demonstrate the meaning of vocabulary words. Think of the difference between teaching students the words for characters like robot, and pirate versus showing them the real thing and having them guess the name. It’s especially helpful when teaching students by making them involved in the real thing and making them explore what they are learning.

The students were really involved in the lesson without getting distracted and they also can figure out which character suit them and what they wanted to be by expressing to us. I have added the video of my activity and the students eliciting what they wanted to be at the end of the class.

I am showcasing an interesting activity that is really important during early education. RESPONSIBILITY - TAP THE MAGIC TREE SUMMER PROGRAMME - JUNE 2022

We had a wonderful theme that was set by me in the English department for the kindergarten Level. All the students loved it and it came out really well. The lessons were really catchy and the outcome was the best out of all. We had an overall six weeks with 20 awesome activities.  I took the overall responsibility from start to end by working with the suppliers, managers, admins, staff, and teachers by coordinating and executing perfectly. It was a successful and memorable one where I got a lot of appreciation from the head of the departments and the principal. We don't have any negative feedback from the parents and the homeroom teachers as well. Below is the overall review of the program which we have done.

SELF DEVELOPMENT - SMART GOALS FOR TEACHERS - MAKE LEARNING FUN

 As we all know the Smart goal for a teacher should be optimizing class time. increasing student engagement and reinforcing the student vocabulary. I made my workout plan with students to find the gaps by finding out how to improve the student's progress through motivation and make learning fun through interactive games and activities. As I know the SMART goals involve S- specific, M- measurable, A- achievable, R- relevant, and T- timebound. S (Specific) - In the class, I have set a goal with a clear structure pattern and detailed aim for each level. you can see the sample I have listed below. M ( Measurable): I also handle the chicken and dolphin levels. Every time the student increases the level, I will articulate some challenging activities suiting for them to improve their progress and clearly plan to have my ideas work to achieve my goals.
